MOTULORS DEN-CITY is a collection of prints presented for the first time at Seoul Platoon Kunsthalle in November 2010. The project emanates from the Collapsible Playground installed at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium during the 2011 Seoul Design Fair, where 24 inflatable signboards, controlled by power switches, were interacting with the audience.
The core element of DEN_CITY is a modular unit called CENTIPEDE, a new creature generated by enhancing the features of 12 selected individuals. The models for the project were initially photographed in our office and than digitally assembled in piles to create endless mutation of the CENTIPEDES. They became the units we used to design our imaginary cities.
DEN_CITY is a visionary urban project and the CENTIPEDES are its new DNA: constantly growing and adapting to the vertical explosion of our living environment.
CENTIPEDES are new buildings scales measuring the inflating skyline of overcrowded metropolis. Building lines of people piles.
